FSD, for Full Self Driving, is presented as Tesla’s fully autonomous driving technology. Launched in 2020 on the North American market, the software is still in beta version at the time of writing these lines.

As a reminder, the FSD allows your Tesla to move independently in most driving scenarios, including the most complex ones (road junctions, traffic lights, etc.). However, as Tesla points out, FSD does not make vehicles fully autonomous and they always require”active monitoring by the driver” (autonomous driving level 2 according to the nomenclature in force).

Over the past three years, the FSD beta has been rolled out to an increasing number of drivers in the United States only. Note that this feature is charged $15,000 while there is also a monthly subscription offered at $200 per month.

Towards the beginnings of the FSD in Europe?

A few months ago, Elon Musk mentioned the possible arrival of the FSD beta in other markets, Europe and Asia in particular. Good news, things are finally starting to move.

Indeed, the Teslascope site, which usually tracks Tesla software updates, has just made a major discovery. A new FSD beta update has just been deployed in the United States, but not only.

Some vehicles have also benefited from this update in Canada, Germany, Belgium and Australia. Given the particularly limited number of cars concerned (between 1 and 3), everything indicates that this is an early release planned for internal testing and reserved only for brand employees.

For good reason, the rules of UNECE, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, do not yet authorize the use of FSD in Teslas sold on the Old Continent to the general public. Despite everything, things could unblock soon, with the entry into force of new regulations in the coming months.
