Galaxy S22 Ultra: Samsung could launch a model with 1TB of storage

The Galaxy S22 Ultra might not be limited to 512 GB of storage as it was on previous models. Samsung could take inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max and offer a version with 1TB of storage.

While Xiaomi has just unveiled its high-end smartphones Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro, all eyes are now on its competitor Samsung, which will present its new Galaxy S22 next February. According to a new report from SamMobile, the Galaxy S22 Ultra may well benefit from more storage than their predecessors.

Indeed, just like Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro Max, Samsung could offer a version with 1 TB of storage, compared to a maximum of 512 GB on the 2021 Galaxy S21 UItra. This high-end version could also offer up to 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM, its price could therefore soar compared to current models.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra will follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy S10 +

If Samsung does launch a version with 1TB of storage, it would not be a first for the Korean manufacturer. Indeed, Samsung had already launched a Galaxy S10 + model with 1TB of storage in 2019, before finally settling for 512 GB of storage on the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S20 that followed.

Unfortunately for users, if Samsung were to offer up to 1TB of storage on its Galaxy S22 Ultra, it would not increase the base capacity of its models, which currently start at 128GB. It is not known if Samsung counts. or not to sell four different versions of his smartphone with 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of storage, or if one of them will not be offered for sale.

We should find out more about this soon as we approach the launch of smartphones. As a reminder, Samsung will hold a conference on February 8 to unveil the Galaxy S22, but the devices will then not be available until the end of February 2022. We also know that Samsung has finally decided to postpone the launch of smartphones.
