Google has finally officially presented the Pixel Tablet, its first connected tablet. Without being revolutionary, it nevertheless has a major advantage: that of being able to transform into a smart screen for your connected home.
During its Google I/O 2023 conference, Google not only lifted the veil on the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, but also on its first connected tablet, the Pixel Tablet. It is one of the most powerful tablets on the market, since it is powered by the Tensor G2 chipthe same that can be found on the company’s latest smartphones.
She offers a 10.95 inch LCD screen with a definition of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits, but the refresh rate is stuck at 60 Hz. You can also count on 8 MP rear and 8 MP front IMX355 cameras, four speakers, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and an Ultra WideBand chip. Google announces an autonomy of 12 hours, which is about average.
The Pixel Tablet can turn into a Google Nest Hub
What makes this Pixel Tablet different from other products already on the market is its charging station equipped with a speaker. Once placed on it, the tablet turns into a real Google Nest Hub. All you have to do is say “Ok Google” to control your connected home, just like you could with your smart display.
Once in place on the base, the ” Google Pixel Tablet Stand », the tablet can also be transformed into a digital frame to display your photos. Another advantage is being able to watch videos on the big screen, while enjoying the speaker’s powerful speakersrather than those built into the tablet.
Price and availability
As revealed by previous leaks, Google is launching its Pixel Tablet from 679.99 euros in France with 128 GB of storage. It will take 799.99 euros for the version with 256 GB of storage. The good news is that the charging station equipped with an enclosure is included in the box, so you won’t have to buy it separately. Only two colors are available in France: sage green and porcelain.
You will soon be able to find it on the Google Store, as well as on Fnac-Darty, Boulanger and Amazon. It should be available for everyone on June 26th.
