Half of the Andalusian startups in the Minerva Program get private investment

The Minerva Program has held the fourth edition of its online investment forum, ‘Minerva Investor Day’highlighting the growth of private investment in Minerva startups: more than 50% have obtained investment from venture capital funds or business angels, exceeding the figure of 20.5 million euros.

This new edition, which had the participation of more than fifty investment profiles, also promoted private meetings between entities and companies, in which it was possible to delve deeper into the investment search of each startup and explore if it fit in the investment thesis of the attending investors. In the forum participated five Andalusian technology companies that have the quality seal of the Minerva Program, since they have been accelerated and have passed a particular selection to participate in the forum based on their investment needs. All the participants currently have an open investment round and are from very different sectors, from edtech to environmental impact.

The startups that have defended their investment pitch have been inchrono, a digitalization solution for the sports offer on a platform and app for the end user that already has more than 45 clubs as clients; BrainsPro, a SaaS platform for creating online academies with more than 15,000 users who have already been trained through its technology; and Firmafy, an advanced electronic signature digital solution with which any document can be signed quickly, safely and legally from a mobile phone; both for companies and individuals, which has more than 15,000 active clients in Europe.

Promoting sustainability through technology have participated Waisense, modular home automation technology for saving water in the home whose innovation has been recognized with more than 30 awards, including recognition from the United Nations; and Blowind, an R+D+i startup that has patented and is in the process of developing a wind energy regenerator for electric vehicles that provides greater autonomy and reduces consumption.

Investment forums since 2020

The Minerva Program, aligned with the growth needs of the startups it supports as a business accelerator, launched the first edition of these online investment forums in 2020. Since then He has already made four more, with the aim of putting the Spanish investment ecosystem in contact with Minerva startups that are actively seeking investment.

Only in the first half of 2022 have several private investment operations been closed in the ecosystem of companies that have gone through the program. To mention a few, at the beginning of the year the Sevillian university notes platform Wuolah raised 5 million euros with a round led by Seaya Ventures and more recently, the company LiveLink Motor, with its product for motorcyclists Komobi, closed 1.8 million euros with round led by Ship2B. Startups such as Liceo de Farmacia, Nubentos, G2G Algae, Taalentfy, Happymami or Chekin have also been invested by private entities in recent months. Many of these companies have been selected in investment forums of national relevance, such as Alhambra Venture and Al-Andalus Innovation Summit.
