Within the Halo Infinite community, we were beginning to stampede with impatience. It must be said that the game has been sorely lacking in content for some time, and players were just waiting to find out more about the new features to come.

And precisely, this Friday, September 2, 343 industries has finally unveiled its roadmap. First of all, season 2 will continue… Until March 2023! And yes, you will have to be patient with discovering a new season of multiplayer. In total, this second season will have lasted more than 10 months.

A wave of new content from November 8

But before that, let us specify thata wave of new content is planned for November 8, 2022. Thus, players will be able to compete on two new maps called Detachment and Argyle. To this date, a new Battle Pass will also be launchedallowing players to obtain additional cosmetic items for their Spartans.

An overhaul of the system for earning XP is also on the agenda. It must be said that the current system, with its daily quests, is far from satisfying the players. But the main novelty to come this November 8 remains the launch of Forge mode, finally!

Expected first when the game launches in December 2021, then postponed to May 2022, it will therefore have been necessary to wait almost a year to access the famous level editor of the saga. Note that the online cooperation mode, which will allow you to relive the campaign with a friend, will land on the same date.

No separate screen cooperation, the hard blow

Nevertheless, 343 Industries risks making people cringe with this additional announcement. Indeed, the studio has confirmed that there would be no split-screen co-op on Halo Infinite. A real blow for the players who were waiting for this emblematic feature of the saga… 8 months of waiting for nothing in short. Here is the studio’s message on the subject:

In order to improve and expedite the development of the ongoing live service, and to better respond to player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local co-op in split screen for the campaign”. Hopefully work on split-screen co-op will resume at some point.
