Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is already here to expand the world of Horizon Forbidden West with new adventures in an expansion that perfectly fulfills its mission, giving us more hours of play with missions at a very good level and some new features. In this way we can travel with Aloy to a new territory to discover full of things to do. Let’s see in depth what awaits us in this expansion that, to take into account, is only available for Playstation 5.
After passing the main plot of the game, an essential requirement, we will receive a call from an old acquaintance to give us some information about something that is happening in an archipelago known as the Burning Coasts, or what was in the past a part of Los Angeles. There we will come across a settlement of the Quen, who are in a delicate situation due to the side effects that our reason for the mission is producing. Therefore, our fate is linked to that of Seyka, one of its citizens most involved in finding a solution to what is happening.
This will be how it will touch us embark on several very similar missions which we were able to play in the original game accompanied, of course, by different secondary missions, secrets and completely new challenges that we can discover and complete as we explore the Burning Shores. And of course, there will also be new machines, equipment and abilities to unlock to make the game even richer. All in all, we find ourselves with an expansion of the game in every way. And to be an expansion, it must be said that there are interesting differences both in the gameplay and in the technical section. In the first point we can see how the missions are more to the point, our feeling is that we advance more with each step we take, being something that generates a greater sense of reward. In the second point, being an exclusive expansion for Playstation 5, we find richer and more detailed environments. It’s not a huge difference, but enough for the game to delight us with very well worked scenes.
About his durationdeviating from the main path to be able to get hold of some new weapons and improve them, leads us to around 10 hours complete the story. But as always, if we want to complete all the extras, it will take us a few more hours. Taking into account the price of the expansion, it seemed more than enough to us.
In short, we are before a very continuous expansion about the original game but, taking into account that we liked it a lot, it seems perfect. Thus, we have more of the world to explore accompanied by several novelties that make us enjoy a few more hours of play with Aloy. And everything is said, the end of the main mission lives up to that of the original game.
