I installed Windows on my Mac… and I ended up desperate and fed up

All of them work correctly and can get you out of trouble, like in my case, who needed an application to create a photo album and no company has one for MacOS. Surely it has happened to you with another type of program.

However, there is something that they never tell you and that can make the installation last a short time. Today I am going to give you my personal opinion and experience. Although it’s just that, personal. You can have yours once you read everything.

Why doesn’t Windows work on Mac?

The truth is that, once installed, my happiness was real, I could now download the program I needed without having to buy another computer or use other methods. However, it didn’t last long… Why?

The problems began to be quite a few, first of all I noticed once I disconnected the charger from my Mac, it started to heat up and lower your battery very abruptly. Considering that a MacBook Air M1 should have an autonomy of 10 to 20 hours (theoretically), this one didn’t even reach 90 minutes.

And the thing is, the MacOS system is designed to take full advantage of the performance of its components, not aimed at having another operating system interact in its own way, but hey, you will think that leaving it connected will already solve it. In part yes, however, the heat and component suffering it was still there.

And you have to keep in mind that models like the one I use do not have a fan, so it becomes even more difficult. It is likely that with others, even iMac, the experience will be different, but in my case it was like that.

Furthermore, that heating and components at maximum It made it so that, using a program that required more power than those simple ones for creating photo albums, it became very slow, to the point of ending up turning off and restarting, something that in these 3 years with it, never happened to me.

When trying to use any Windows-specific program, the Mac was bad, then… What is the use of having another OS if I can’t use its programs? Finally, I ended up uninstalling it, also due to the weight it takes up inside the Mac’s SSD.

It must be said that I tried all installation methods, even different versions of Windows, from some lighter ones like W7 to the latest. But they were all too bad if we compare it with the native performance of this PC.

Conclusion: If you need to use Windows on your Mac in a specific case like mine, go ahead, it is possible and you will be able to get out of the problem. However, if your idea is to have both forever, I don’t think you will end up happy, and your battery will be the first to degrade, as well as the components that work twice as hard and are hotter on top of that. You will end up paying more than if you buy another Windows laptop, because your Mac will probably end up giving you problems.

Now, this is my opinion, you are free to leave yours, as I say, it will also depend on the type of Macbook you have.
