iFixit disassembles the 15-inch MacBook Air

As is tradition, every time Apple launches a new device on the market, immediately the guys at iFixit they take one and put the screwdriver to see and analyze the interior design and its components that make it up.

So they have not taken a week to “gut” the brand new MacBook Air 15 inches that can already be purchased at the Apple Store and on the Apple website. Let’s see if it differs much from its 13-inch little brother or not.

We already have the first teardown of the new 15-inch MacBook Air posted. The iFixit technicians have already received a unit of this new MacBook, and they have been running short of time to gut it completelyand post it on your YouTube channel.

And as we could already intuit, the truth is that there are very few differences between the 13-inch model and the new 15-inch. Seeing the two without casing next to each other, it seems simply an extension of the one that was there until now.

Watching the video posted by iFixit, the first thing you notice is that disassembly is identical. With the same screws and fixing clips. At first glance, they only differ in the largest size of the speakers of the 15-inch model.

In short, physically they only differ in size. By having a larger case, the 15-inch model houses a larger battery, and also bigger speakers. The rest, all the same.

The iFixit technicians again gave it a very low repairability score, just like the 13-inch model. Just a 3 out of 10 in the repairability test from iFixit.
