Indiana Jones 5: New photos from the set reveal the year in which the film is set

While filming continues on Indiana Jones 5despite Harrison Ford’s recent injury, new photos from the set of the film, shot by the Glasgow Times, seem to have finally revealed the year in which the film is set.

If the other images stolen from the English set had hinted that we will see Indy again in some flashbacks set during the Second World War, it now seems almost certain that the new chapter of the saga will be set in the late 60s and, more precisely, in the 1969.

1969 will be the year Indiana Jones 5 is set

How do we know this? Because in the new images New York City is visible and, affixed to shop windows, banners and posters reading “Welcome Home”, made for the astronauts’ return from the moon Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin is Michael Collins.

Here are the images that leave no doubt about the period in which the new Indiana Jones 5 will be set:

The images therefore confirm the rumors of last year and, consequently, one wonders if the details on the plot (kept very secret) will also be confirmed.

In the cast of the film, in addition to Harrison Ford, there will also be Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Shaunette Renée Wilson (The Resident) and Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age Of Ultron).

Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters on July 28, 2022 but, in the meantime, if you want to marathon the first four films of the saga, you can take a look at the Indiana Jones 4K Blu-ray collection.
