Will Poulter plays Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

As we have known for some time now, the director James Gunn will introduce the character of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and, now, Gunn has announced that the mighty superhero will be played by Will Poulter (Midsommar, The Revenant).

Will Poulter will play Adam Warlock in the third chapter of Guardians of the Galaxy

Created by Stan Lee And Jack Kirby, and first appeared in a comic book with The Fantastic Four n. 66, Adam Warlock’s arrival was anticipated in one of the credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, after Ayesha, leader of the sovereign people, had created a being called “Adam”, with the aim of destroying the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gunn actually planned to include Adam Warlock already in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but explained that he abandoned the idea and the character for creative reasons.

“It was in the original draft – in the original treatment, even before it became a screenplay – Adam Warlock was an important character.” revealed the director not long ago. “But the script was too busy, there were too many characters and I couldn’t do Nebula and Adam Warlock justice, and have them both in there, so I decided to save Adam for another day.”

Now that day seems to be coming with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Will Poulter, a decidedly unusual choice.

When it came to choosing Pouter for the role, “Gunn and the executives began their long search for the person who would play Warlock in late August, with Poulter showing up alongside several other actors for the coveted part. As is common with any large Marvel property, the executives and Gunn took their time. In the end, Poulter’s audition was too good to turn down ”.
