The iPhone 14s continue to reveal themselves. Unsurprisingly, Apple should focus on the photography part of his smartphones. According to the latest news, the iPhone 14 Pro will inherit a new 48-megapixel main sensor on the back. This huge main lens measures 1/1.3 inch, which is 21% larger sensor area than the 1/1.65 inch sensor found in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The innovations won’t stop at the back camera. According to information relayed by Ming-Chi Kuo, famous specialized analyst, Apple should bringsignificant changes to the front photo sensor. “The front camera of the four new iPhone 14 models would likely switch to AF (autofocus) and around f/1.9 aperture (compared to fixed focus and the f/2.2 of the ‘iPhone 13)”announces Ming-Chi Kuo on his Twitter account.

Apple will improve the front sensor of its iPhone 14

For the first time, Apple would abandon fixed focus to provide an autofocus sensor on the front of its iPhones. This autofocus technology should allow the brand’s smartphones to take clearer photos, even if the subject is too close or too far from the camera.

“Autofocus support and lower f-number can provide better shallow depth of field effect for selfie/portrait mode. In addition, autofocus can also improve focus effect for FaceTime”explains the analyst.

Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts a wider opening on the iPhone 14 compared to the iPhone 13. This change should also help let in more light, which improves the rendering of photos taken in low light conditions. Finally, a wider aperture will allow you to apply a blur in the background. With the iPhone 14, selfie lovers should find what they are looking for.

All models in the range will obviously inherit the same front photo sensor. There won’t be no better front cameras on Pro or Pro Max editions. To differentiate themselves, the Pro versions will already be able to count on a different design without a notch (but with a double hole in the screen) and a better camera on the back.
