Like many manufacturers, the South Korean brand Kia has in turn taken the turn of the electric. For the moment, its offer boils down to a single vehicle: the Kia EV6. But in 2023, the manufacturer’s 100% electric catalog will expand with the arrival of its very first green SUV, the EV9.

Already present in this segment with Kia Sportages and Seltos, the Hyundai subsidiary intends to come and compete with the Tesla Model X on its land. For now, information about the EV9 is scarce. We know that this will be Kia’s second electric model and that it will also be based on the Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform (just like Kia’s EV6 or Hyundai’s IONIQ 5).

As for its technical characteristics, we know for the moment that the EV9 will be able to perform the 0 to 100 km / h in just 5 seconds, while it will display a generous autonomy of 540 km with a full charge. This is the only information available to us regarding the technical data sheet.

Kia plans to lift the veil on the EV9 soon

But as evidenced by a publication on Kia’s Indian account, the wait should soon be over. Indeed, the manufacturer intends to present the EV9 “very soon” and invites us toprepare to be inspired”. As said above, Kia’s new electric SUV is expected to debut in the first half of 2023.

Know that in France, the brand is doing quite well. In November 2022, Kia sold 4,1110 units in November 2022, up 1.3% year-on-year. Over the year, the Kia Sportage remains the most popular model with 12,050 registrations, which testifies to the interest of users for the manufacturer’s SUVs. On his side, the EV6 electric sedan saw its sales triple in 2022, with 73,167 units sold internationally. What augurs a good career for the EV9? The question remains, especially since we don’t yet know the price of Kia’s next SUV.
