The wing company has presented the Motorola Razr 40 and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, two new smartphones with which it renews its catalog of terminals with flexible screen that aim directly at the mid-range and high-end range, in fact the former will be quite reasonably priced for a foldable smartphone.
In terms of external design we see that both maintain the clamshell design, which means that the screen folds horizontally and not vertically, as is the case with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. The Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra will be direct rivals of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 from Samsung.
As both models have important differences, and occupy different price ranges, let’s see them individually to better understand what they offer and what we can expect from them.
Motorola Razr 40: features and technical specifications
This is the standard model within the new generation of Motorola folding smartphones. It has, as we have already said, a clamshell design with a vertical fold and a hinge that divides the chassis in half, and which can be clearly seen at the rear. And speaking of the back, in it we can see a double camera setup arranged horizontally and also a small AMOLED screen (1.5 inches) for notificationswhose resolution is 194 x 368 pixels.
We go to the front and we find a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,640 pixels, it has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits. Its finish is all screen, which translates into reduced edges and a front camera integrated into a small circular floating island.

We now jump to a terminal that is clearly placed above the previous one. It maintains its clamshell design, the horizontal fold and the hinge, but it presents important differences. In the back we can see that the horizontal dual camera arrangement, but we have a much larger secondary screen with a higher resolution, since it reaches 3.6 inches and has a 1,056 x 1,066 pixel count.
On the front we have an all-screen finish that minimizes edges and integrates the front camera into a small floating island. It also uses a folding panel of 6.9-inch type LTPO AMOLED With a resolution of 1,080 x 2,640 pixels, it has a 165 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is made of aluminum (chassis), it has Gorilla Glass Victus protecting the back and front panel, plastic protecting the front panel and the hinge is made of stainless steel. At the specification level it is a high-end terminal, since it has the following components:

- 256GB-512GB storage capacity.

Price and release date of the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra
The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra It is already available with a starting price of 1,199 euros, VAT included. The standard version will hit stores in the coming weeks, and Motorola has confirmed to us that its retail price will be 899 euros in its version with 128 GB of storage capacity.
