Netflix direct will debut in 2023

Nobody can say that Netflix has taken this year in stride. And it is that if 2022 began without particularly relevant plans, the first presentation of economic results this year it was a whole jug of cold water and a clear signal that they needed to do something to reverse an incipient negative trend, which was set to become much more virulent as the year progressed. The main move in this regard was, you know, the basic plan with advertising, but there are also its steps to monetize shared accounts or the attempt, still quite lukewarm, to boost its game offer.

In this sense, in the middle of the year we told you that Netflix was also working on a direct function, according to a fairly reliable rumor that began to spread around that time. By itself it was a function that seemed to make a lot of sense, but what added a plus of credibility was that a few months before Disney + had also started its tests in this regard. During 2022 it seems that Netflix has especially set its sights on the Disney streaming servicesince it has also taken the plan with advertising from it.

However, tothere has hardly been any information about it since the May rumor, which brings us back to the usual Netflix deadlines, which, as we well know, tend to take a long time from when any type of change is considered until it is finally completed. We have already told you, as an example of this, the complex process that took place for the implementation of the double thumb on the platform. And if the terms are like this for a simple change in the interface, we can imagine what these processes are like for larger changes.

Netflix direct will debut in 2023

However, as I said at the beginning, it seems that 2022 is being a year in which the company has stepped on the accelerator more than usual. Thus, and according to what he has communicated on his blog, direct on Netflix will debut in 2023more specifically at the beginning («early 2023according to the publication). The specific date is not indicated, but it will be a global event, so users will be able to see it from anywhere.

And the truth is that in this respect Netflix has decided to start strong, since this debut with the direct ones will consist of a performance by Chris Rock, the controversial actor and comedian whose run-in with Will Smith is still well remembered. And I don’t want to think badly, but what event takes place at the “early” of the year? Indeed, the delivery of the Oscars, precisely the context in which the incident between Rock and Smith occurred.

Thus, if we think a little wrong, it makes sense to suggest that Netflix intends to broadcast this special around the date chosen for the awards ceremony most important in the world of cinema. And it is that, although absolutely nothing has been leaked yet about the content of said live special, it would be surprising if the famous slap was not part of the topics addressed in it.
