Netflix Gaming: tests start in Poland with Stranger Things games

How we have discovered for more than a month now, Netflix will soon introduce the ability to play video games through its video streaming platform, with a program that has already been renamed Netflix Gaming.

Netflix Gaming starts today, in the testing phase, in Poland

And just in these hours the first tests of the new project have been started, which will allow users in Poland to try two games, Stranger Things: 1984 And Stranger Things 3, through the Netflix Android app.

“Starting today, members in Poland will be able to try Netflix’s mobile games on Android, with two games – Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3 – all as part of their membership.”, a spokesperson for Netflix said in a recent statement. “It’s still very early days and we will work hard to deliver the best possible experience over the next few months with our ad-free, in-app purchase approach to gaming.”

Just like movies and TV series on Netflix, available games will also be displayed on the users home page. When we select a game, the app will allow us to learn more and press a button to download it. The app will then direct us to the Google Play Store to download it (so not a real integration into the Netflix app).

Alternatively, we can in fact find the games directly on Google Play and, after downloading the relevant app, we will be asked to log in with our Netflix credentials before we can start playing the title for free.

We do not know when Netflix Gaming will be available outside the Polish borders (or the Android ecosystem) but, as explained by Netflix, this is “just the beginning”.
