Jake Gyllenhaal will produce and star in the film inspired by the graphic novel Oblivion Song

“Oblivion Song” tells the story of Nathan Cole, a man who makes daily trips to try to save those who still live in Oblivion, an apocalyptic hell in Philadelphia that was lost a decade earlier, along with 300,000 of its citizens.

After the announcement of the start of work on the script of Oblivion Song, in 2019, today we discover that the project is alive and well, with Kirkman who wanted to comment on the new developments on the film:

“We couldn’t be more excited to find such great partners in New Republic and Nine Stories” stated the author of The Walking Dead. “Both companies have a huge reputation for storytelling at the highest level and we can’t wait to see Jake bring this character to life on the big screen. We are so lucky to have put together a team as passionate about this comic as we are. ”

Gyllenhaal will play the protagonist of Oblivion Song, Nathan Cole, who is engaged in the search for the survivors and his brother Edward in the place of a catastrophe called Oblivion.

Pending the arrival of the film, in Italy it is possible to recover the comic written by Kirkman thanks to saldaPress (you can find all the volumes of the comic on Amazon, TO THIS ADDRESS).
