Nintendo Doesn’t Want You To Mod Zelda Breath Of The Wild And Will Cruelly Punish You If You Do

Zelda Breath of the Wild multiplayer mod

Someone has created something quite interesting with a Nintendo game and the company, which does not like the idea at all, wants to kill the project as soon as possible. Nothing new under the dawn. It is not the first time we have seen something like this, and it is that Nintendo’s IPs are untouchable, but what have they bothered with this time?

Improving Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Zelda Breath of the Wild multiplayer mod

Zelda Breath of the Wild it is a spectacular game. The open world that it offers with its infinite possibilities make it a practically infinite game, however, many miss that multiplayer component that will multiply the possibilities. the youtuber PointCrow he’s one of those players who was craving the possibility of that game mode, so offered $10,000 for the one who manages to give life to a functional mod that will allow multiplayer play on the map of Hyrule.

In the end, two developers came up with the idea, and the mod was released last week for anyone interested to download and try. And of course, Nintendo did not like this at all, which quickly decided to take action on the matter.

a harsh punishment

The company, seeing how its beloved Zelda had been manipulated ad nauseam (the youtuber has an endless history of videos with hilarious modifications), decided to punish our protagonist in the harshest way, so it sent YouTube block requests to all Breath of the Wild videos that PointCrow had uploaded to his channel. Considering that most of the videos were Zelda-themed, the channel was downright destroyed.

The boy has turned to YouTube, and what he has achieved is that the videos are available for playback again, but they have stopped monetizing, so the channel’s income will currently be in the doldrums, at least in everything related to Zelda.

No ROMs, no Mods

Seen what has been seen, it seems that Nintendo has intensified the tasks of monitoring its IPs. It is true that the PointCrow channel monetized based on modifying Nintendo’s own content, but we did not imagine that the giant would get to that point. And it’s one thing to distribute ROMs and another to make funny videos… don’t you think?
