Often, Nintendo does not really announce the official prices of its products in France. E-merchants therefore do what they want, until the day of release. This is still the case with the OLED Switch: the new version of the hybrid console was displayed at 349 euros yesterday, but rose to 319 euros today, or 30 euros of difference. It can be found at this price at Fnac and Cdiscount.
To better understand the offer
- What is changing with the Nintendo Switch OLED?
The first difference with the classic Nintendo Switch is the most obvious: the OLED screen. This technology offers infinite contrasts and more vibrant colors. The immersion in portable mode is therefore even greater, especially with a screen diagonal that goes from 6.2 to 7 inches, without forgetting the borders which have been greatly reduced. Another positive point: you will be able to store more games thanks to the internal capacity of 64 GB – always expandable via microSD.
The console now accommodates a stronger kickstand that extends the entire length of the device. It even adjusts to provide the best viewing angle. The dock has been slightly modified. We obviously notice the new pale white color, but also more rounded edges on the upper part. The main novelty comes from the addition of an Ethernet port. This improves the performance of your internet connection compared to Wi-Fi, which is very useful for online gaming or games that use the cloud, for example.

- Should we fall for this new console?
The answer to this question depends on how you play. If you use the Nintendo Switch more in nomadic mode, this OLED model will clearly enhance the experience. But if you play mostly on a TV, there won’t be any fundamental changes other than how fast you connect in wired mode. However, if you haven’t yet purchased one of the versions of the hybrid console since its release in 2017, then the Switch OLED is clearly the best choice to check out the flagship licenses of the Japanese giant.
