Philips launches a new monitor with 5K resolution

Philips has released the 40B1U6903CH, a monitor with 5K resolution that is aimed at the professional sector and that mounts a 39.7-inch panel. It is a very complete solution that is positioned, for obvious reasons, in the high range, and the truth is that it does not clash in any aspect, not even in the connectivity options.

The panel of this monitor is of the IPS type, which means that it offers viewing angles of 178 degrees, has a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160 pixels in 21:9 formatoffers a maximum refresh rate of 50 HZ through HDMI and 75 Hz via DisplayPort, so it is best to use this last connection method, it has a contrast of 1,000:1, a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2 and a response time of 4 ms from gray to gray.

This monitor with 5K resolution is capable of reproducing 113% of the NTSC color space and 134% of the sRGB color space, supports HDR10 and has a delta E < 2, which means it offers solid value in the hands of professionals in the world of design, content creation and photo and video editing. It is compatible with Adaptive Sync technology, has two HDMI 2.0 outputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a Thunderbolt 4 with power capacity of up to 90 watts and has a very complete USB hub.

Philips hasn’t forgotten user care either, which is why this monitor has the TUV Rheinland Eyesafe RPF 50 certification, which means it filters out blue light to reduce eye strain. Ergonomics is not far behind either, since we can radjust it in height, rotation and inclination. Its panel is curved, which improves immersion, and in the upper frame it has a 5 MP camera for video calls that also integrates noise-canceling microphones. The selling price of this monitor is 1,849 euros.
