Qualcomm will collaborate with Telefónica to strengthen its position in the world of development of the metaverse and augmented reality (XR). Both companies will work on the growth of the XR ecosystem, for which they will use the Snapdragon Spaces XR Development Platform and Telefónica’s advanced mobile and fixed network infrastructure.
The agreement between both companies also includes the exploration of joint business opportunities, as well as the launch of products and services related to the metaverse and augmented reality. In addition, it opens the opportunity to offer new experiences to potential customers by merging the analog and digital worlds; as well as the reinvention of commerce, leisure and communications in the metaverse.
Both Qualcomm and Telefónica are working to bring Snapdragon Spaces to different initiatives that form part of Telefónica’s Innovation and Talent Hub. Such as its open innovation programs, as well as the 42 programming campus. This will help the Snapdragon Spaces ecosystem grow, and promote the development of new products and services that use augmented reality, which Telefónica can test and sell to its customers of consumption and business.
