The new film that Zack Snyder will direct for Netflix, based on a script written by the director himself together with Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead), Rebel Moon, saw the entry of today Sofia Boutella in the cast.

The actress of the ill-fated reboot of The Mummy, but also of the most appreciated Kingsman: Secret Service, has officially joined the cast of the film which, as we know, was originally conceived as a spin-off of Star Wars.
The story is set “In a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius”. Here, “They send a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them resist.”
“I’m working on it but it’s not part of Star Wars anymore” Snyder had stated in a previous interview. βIt’s a sci-fi project of my own and the story has stayed the same. It’s still a science fiction thing, it’s the same story, it’s just kind of: ‘let Star Wars be Star Wars’. And the 11-year-old me still wants to do it. Now I just know how to do it, so maybe one day we will see it β.
Rebel Moon will be produced by Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller and Zack Snyder with work expected to begin sometime in 2022.
