The South Korean manufacturer has updated its line of Samsung Pro Plus memory cards and they are now faster than ever. They are available in SD and microSD formats and are intended for users and professionals who need to transfer large files, especially 4K or 8K videos.
These external and removable memory cards they are very useful to increase the storage capacity of multiple devices that use them, from mobiles to cameras, through tablets or portable game consoles. They are also used as an essential means of running operating systems and/or applications on devices such as single-board computers.
As capacity and speed needs continue to increase, large manufacturers are updating their offerings. This is the case of the Samsung Pro Plus that has just been updated with the main novelty of a notable increase in performance, to offer data transfer speeds of up to 180 Mbytes per second in read mode and 130 Mbytes per second in writing.
Samsung says they’re optimized for shooting 4K video and capturing high-quality photos, with a V30 top speed rating and top-rated random performance, A2, four times the minimum random read/write compared to the general A1.
The new Samsung cards are also from the group of “resistant”, especially suitable for those who need high durability and maximum resistance, protection against water, dust or X-rays from transport centers, as well as including data recovery software. The company offers a 10-year warranty on these units.
Samsung sells the series in SD formats with versions of 64-128 and 256 GB of capacity and also the smaller and more versatile microSD, with versions of 128-256 and 512 GBytes. The prices are really cheap. from just 12 dollars, up to $60 for the 512 GB microSD. The cards can be optionally purchased with a USB 3.0 (Type-A) card reader that increases versatility for use in computers where SD/microSD slots are not available.
