Techland is already thinking about Dying Light 3, but it won’t arrive anytime soon

Tymon Smektała has confirmed on social media that Techland anda is thinking about Dying Light 3. This information is of undoubted value, because in the end we are talking about the director of said franchise, that is, an official source and one of the top managers of the saga.

Tymon himself said that this was not a Dying Light 3 announcement, but right in that same tweet he asked outright: «if we do Dying Light 3what would you like the main character to be (as a profession)». Immediately, he gave four different options:

  • Just a survivor.
  • A night runner.
  • a pilgrim.
  • A GRE agent gone good.

The last option is the one that has won, followed by only one survivor. Curiously, the least popular was the pilgrim option, which is precisely the profession of the protagonist of Dying Light 2. And speaking of Dying Light 2, according to Techland this game has been very successful as it managed to sell five million copies during its launch month, and will be supported with new content and DLCs for at least five years.

Dying Light 2

This means that Dying Light 2 still has life ahead of it, although it is clear that in the end there is nothing stopping Techland from releasing Dying Light 3 before it ends its life cycle. Returning to the protagonist of that third installment, Tymon also previously commented that this will begin as stronger and with a larger skill base from what we have seen in other games.

The Dying Light franchise has sold around 30 million copies, a figure in which the 20 million copies sold by the first installment are especially noteworthy and that, in my opinion, is better than the second in every way. I think Techland should take note of this and go back to the roots of the original in Dying Light 3, a game that, for obvious reasons, will be exclusive to the current generation of consoles, that is, it will only come to Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X , PS5 and PC.

That said, all that remains is to wait for new information to appear, although andI warn you that you must be patientAfter all, Dying Light 2 hit the market in February of last year, so there are still a few years to go before we see Dying Light 3.
