While Tesla has just opened its first V4 Supercharger in the Netherlands, the car manufacturer has just made another big announcement for the European market.

Indeed, the American brand has just confirmed the launch “contactless” tests on the Old Continent. Available since 2021 in the United Statesthis feature simply allows you to test any model from the manufacturer, without having to go to a dealership or contact a sales advisor.

Trying your Tesla remotely is now possible in Europe

More precisely, a simple reservation on the Tesla website allows you to reserve a slot. Before confirming the transaction, Tesla will tell you where to pick up the vehicle. As we can see from the manufacturer’s latest tweet, these test centers are simply akin to “Tesla” car parks which house several models and charging points.

We imagine that the idea will then be to offer many test points, installed in commercial areas, or even in the city center in underground car parks for example. In itself, the launch of this process is not surprising on the part of Tesla, which seeks to reduce more and more its presence in physics in favor of digital services.

Once the user is there, it will suffice call a dedicated number provided by Tesla to unlock away from the vehicle. You are then free to board and drive on board your “future” (maybe) Model 3/X/Y/S for a period of 30 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, simply return the vehicle to the starting point to conclude the test.

For the moment, the first European “contactless” test center has just opened its doors in Sweden, in the city of Örebro. But in the long term, we suspect that the manufacturer will multiply this kind of sites on the different markets of the Old Continent, and especially in France of course.
