The Andalusian company, Brodriver, about to launch its first GPS navigation app for trucks

The Andalusian company, brodriver, is about to launch its new truck GPS navigation application, which will solve routing problems. With this, Brodriver will join the group of companies in the logistics and transport sector with its own technology, as is the case of TomTom (Dutch), NNG Software (Hungarian) Sygic (Czech), Mapfactor (Czech), Copilot (American) and Truckerpath (American-China).

Founded in 2021 by Miguel Latorre and Jose Angaritaspecialists in GPS technology for transport and with experience in advising on software for companies such as Coca Cola, Pepsico, Smurfit Kappa, this Brodriver initiative seeks to change the transport landscape through cutting-edge technology.

The project started in 2016 when Miguel Latorre, Brodriver’s current CEO, devised a truck-specific tool with downloadable maps from around the world. It was in 2021 when the GPS technology team was consolidated with the incorporation of José Angarita as CTO to the project.

One of the standout features of Brodriver’s app is its focus on artificial intelligence, big data, and machine learning for create intelligent routes adapted to the dimensions of the vehicle. This will allow carriers to find the most suitable and efficient routes to reach their destinations, avoiding routing problems and accidents caused by GPS navigation apps for cars, such as Google Maps and Waze, which are not designed for trucks.”they explain.

There are currently few companies that develop navigation technologies for trucks and, in fact, none are in Spain.

What purpose does this app have?

Beyond helping with routing, Brodriver aims to reduce incidents in transport, preventing truckers from being affected by traffic jams in cities and towns where they cannot circulate with their trucks. It will also collaborate in the search to reduce CO2 emissions by generating more efficient routes, creating a more valued and respected work environment.

One of the advantages of the Brodriver application is that will always be free for drivers. In addition, the company has plans to offer different tools for the trucker and the logistics B2B sector, providing a comprehensive solution to navigation problems.
