The Community of Madrid calls for aid for retail SMEs of up to 200,000 euros

The Madrid’s community has opened the call for aid of vital importance for SMEs, which are also very generous in amount. According to Fandit, the platform specialized in offering an ecosystem of subsidies through technology, the Madrid regional executive has opted to promote aid to companies in the trade sector and trade associations. The objective: to support and promote competitiveness and modernization through the digital and sustainable transformation in commerce.

The aid budget is 12 million euros. The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment has estimated that each applicant can receive up to €200,000. The submission period began on November 21 and runs until the next December 13th.

The purpose of this grant is finance investment projects with technological content, innovative and sustainable presented by SMEs in the commercial sector. This can be done either individually or through their associations, so that they influence the management of their commercial activity and their business model, guaranteeing their adaptation to new consumption habits, sales modalities, positioning and distribution.

Who can apply

  1. To the line of aid for small and medium-sized companies in the commercial sector: companies and individuals holding individual companies in the trade sector that are considered SMEs.
  2. To the line of aid for non-profit associations, as well as associative entities that integrate several trade associations or legally constituted federations and confederations with headquarters in the territory of the Community of Madrid that have among their statutory purposes and action programs the defense of the interests of the commercial sector and the carrying out of activities that contribute to the revitalization and promotion of commercial activity. Likewise, in the case of multisectoral associations, which group at least 30% of partners whose activity falls within the CNAE 2009 codes 45, 46 or 47.

Therefore, there are two lines, one for small and medium-sized companies and for individuals who own individual companies in the commercial sector. The other is aimed at non-profit merchant associations.

Expenses or actions covered

Line for small and medium-sized companies and individuals who own individual companies in the commercial sector:

  • Expenses directed at digital transformation
  • Expenses related to transformation of the point of sale
  • Expenses related to sustainability and circular economy
  • Expenses related to the supply chain and traceability

Line for non-profit merchant associations:

  • Expenses aimed at the digital transformation of the group of associates
  • Expenses related to the transformation of the point of sale collectively
  • Expenses related to sustainability and circular economy
  • Expenses related to the supply chain and traceability
  • Awareness and training expenses

Requirements

  • The main activity of the business must correspond to one of the activities included in the CNAE codes: 45 (sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles), 46 (wholesale trade and trade intermediaries, except motor vehicles and motorcycles) or 47 (retail trade except motor vehicles and motorcycles).
  • In the case of non-sedentary commerce, sales modalities in street markets and itinerant commerce in store-vehicles or short marketing channels will only be admitted. The main activity of the company must be street sales.
  • Comply with all the obligations contained in the regulatory bases and, in particular, the one related to the maintenance of the subsidized investment for five years.
  • All projects must respect the so-called principle of not cause significant harm to the environment (DNSH principle) and the conditions of climate and digital labeling.
