The Galaxy S23 Ultra performs 20% less than the iPhone 14 Pro

He Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra It is the latest emblematic smartphone of the South Korean giant, however, its premiere may not have been entirely brilliant, especially if we see that said terminal yields approximately 20% less than an iPhone 14 Pro.

We remember that the Galaxy S23 line has meant Samsung’s surrender when it comes to using its own processors in its top-of-the-range devices, since it has decided to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in all models globally. For its part, Apple seems to have a clearer and more defined roadmap with its own technologies thanks to the fact that the A16 Bionic continues to keep the Cupertino giant in a very good position in terms of performance.

Going deeper into the data, these come from tests carried out with Geekbench 5 and the results of which have been published on CompareDial. In addition to the results obtained by other terminals, it can be seen that the Galaxy S23 Ultra scored 1,480 single-core and 4,584 multi-core, while iPhone 14 Pro scored 1,874 single-core and 5,384 multi-core. These results show that the terminal of Samsung is slower by 21.02% and 14.86% respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Vs iPhone 14 Pro and other smartphone models

Looking at the data released by CompareDial, one can see that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is not only beaten by the iPhone 14 Pro, but also by the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, Galaxy S23 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Plus. We then see the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini models beating the Galaxy S23 Ultra in single-core, while the standard Galaxy S23 achieves the same only in the multi-core test.

In multicore, removing the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is close to all those that have become its direct rivals in this comparison, while Apple’s SoCs are clearly superior in single core.

In short, it seems that Apple is going to retain the crown of the queen of top-of-the-range smartphones in the coming months, a condition that has been reinforced in recent years to the detriment of an Android market that has focused on medium and low ranges.

However, possibly the worst thing is not the difference in performance between the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro, since both terminals have a lot of features, but the fact that the system partition occupies 60GB in the latest generation of Samsung’s top-of-the-range smartphones. This monstrosity is even worse if we take into account that the origin lies in the pre-installation of a large amount of software that basically does not contribute anything to users who are well-to-do with Google services, although the really ethical thing would be for the operating systems to come clean of applications and services (with exceptions) and it was the user who decided what he wants to use and under what conditions.
