This announcement of the implementation of this strategy addresses the need to change how public services are presented, so that with a new approach, such as the one proposed by this cloud strategy, they have more flexibility and agility, as well as greater adaptability. It is also done to undertake various innovations that are based on the value of data, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things or 5G and 6G communication networks.

Using cloud services allows public administrations to provide digital services and have safe, efficient and reliable technological infrastructures. And to do it at the same time that they demand specific attention to the fulfillment of the necessary guarantees for the strategic autonomy of the country, the security and the control of the data.

Pedro Sánchez wanted to highlight during the announcement of the launch of this strategy, “a key concept: data sovereignty.
