Tesla’s humanoid robots, known as the Tesla Optimus, have taken a big step forward in their development, as shown in a new video presented by Elon Musk at the company’s shareholder meeting.
Elon Musk has just completed his annual meeting of shareholders of the company, during which the billionaire revealed a lot of information about the company, and in particular detailed the progress made by the teams working on Optimusthe humanoid robot.
At Tesla’s AI Day last year, the initial version of the Tesla robot was unveiled, but it only managed to walk slowly and was unable to perform any manual labor. One booth featured a model that was supposed to be closer to a production model, but it could only wave to the audience. The robot is now able to perform simple tasks and even moveas Tesla proved in the video.

Images shared by Tesla show the robots walking together in a production-ready chassis and demonstrate their ability to perform various tasks, such as pick up objects and recognize them.
The video highlights several important updates to the Tesla Bot project. These include improvements in motor torque control, environment discovery and memorization, AI learning based on human-tracked movements, and object manipulation. We see in particular a Tesla robot picking up items in one container and placing them in anotherafter a human teaches the AI how to do it.
The development of the Tesla Bot has significant potential, especially for industries that require repetitive or physically demanding tasks. With their ability to recognize and manipulate objects, these robots could revolutionize industries such as manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, improving efficiency and productivity. Elon Musk intends to make his robots one of his company’s flagship products, and make them affordable enough that they can be purchased by the millions around the world.
