The technological company Arquimea buys IberEspacio from Técnicas Reunidas

the tech company Arquimea has purchased the entire company Ibérica del Espacio (IberEspacio) from Técnicas Reunidas. IberEspacio is a company that specializes in the development of products dedicated to thermal control, as well as the manufacture of engineering solutions for space. The operation, in which Arquimea has invested 19 million euros, reinforces this company as a benchmark in the sector of products and technologies for space.

In addition, it completes its development and production capacities to cover the demand for satellites, systems and components for use in space. With regard to the aerospace sector in Spain, the operation strengthens and enhances Spain’s capacity in the space sector, which has a high technological and strategic value, and which has very high growth in the coming years.

IberEspacio has extensive experience in the space sector, and is specialized in engineering solutions for satellites and spacecraft. Also in the design and production of specific hardware for heat and temperature control. It has more than a hundred employees and the necessary facilities to manufacture and integrate satellite systems. These have about 10,000 square meters and are located in Torrejón de Ardoz.

IberEspacio’s experience in the space sector is extensive, as evidenced by the 53 missions in space in which it has participated to date. In them it has launched more than 990 units, and is currently in progress to do the same with another 1,357. Its activity, as indicated in the statement confirming the operation, complements that of Arquimea.

This company is currently the main shareholder and industrial partner of BeetleSat, for which, among other things, it manufactures satellites. BeetleSat is a new telecommunications constellation for which Arquimea will manufacture more than 200 satellites in the coming years. From now on, it will build these satellites in the facilities that IberEspacio has.
