Microsoft celebrated its showcase 2022 by way of E3 with the intention of showing everything that prepares for the remainder of 2022 and part of 2023, including Bethesda, which is confirmed to be, of its latest acquisitions, what it really uses as a lever to convince us that buying one of its Xbox consoles with the famous Game Pass is a good idea. The power of Game Pass
It was not a novelty of this Microsoft online conference, because there are several that have been reinforcing this idea in recent years, but it is undoubtedly one of the ones that had caused the most expectation due to the news of recent months that had left us without redfallbut mostly without Starfieldfacing Christmas this 2022. In both cases they will go to 2023, to the first half, but at least it is confirmed that only an earthquake could again alter those plans of the North Americans.
What was clear as water in this showcase is that neither the great Activision nor Blizzard franchises will come to Game Pass. So that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Overwatch 2 and, above all, the long-awaited Devil IV, they will go on sale as if Microsoft’s Game Pass did not exist. Surely, the billionaire that Phil Spencer’s had to drop to take over that conglomerate has weighed on leaving things as they were with the releases of these two veterans, so it seems that, today, there is no real fit within the flat rate of games.
Games for all tastes
What is evident is that the path chosen by Microsoft is clear: Game Pass, Game Pass and more Game Pass and, in the case of its franchises, take them all from the first minute at a flat rate so that Xbox users always have something AAA to eat. Be careful, it is important to remember that in all the launch notices “Xbox consoles” were specified, so it is more than clear that we are still moving through an intergenerational environment where the old Xbox One still has important releases to receive.
