This free program shows you how much time you lose when teleworking

With the coronavirus, many have been the people who have had the opportunity to be able Work from home remotely, a job that, at times, can be more difficult to carry out than doing it in person, especially if we get easily distracted and end up putting in more hours than we initially should to finish the daily work. If we want to know the time we spend in front of the computer when working, studying or playing, we have an application that will help us find out this and other information in a very simple way.

We are talking about the WinOMeter application. The WinOMeter application is a small application that runs in the background of the system and is in charge of monitoring all the keystrokes we make on the keyboard. In addition, it is also capable of monitoring the movement that we make with the mouse, showing this information in meters and kilometers. It also allows us to know the number of mouse clicks that we have done All of that information is stored along with the uptime of that session. Thanks to this application, we can know not only the number of hours we have spent in front of the computer, but also the number of times we have interacted with the keys and mouse movements.

The app stores a record of all sessions, which allows us to quickly know the activity throughout a week or month. In addition, it allows us to export the results in a .CSV file that we can open with Microsoft Excel or any other application to create spreadsheets and analyze the data to create graphs and make it much easier for us to know the time we spend in front of the computer, what days are we most productive and/or what days do we have the computer on without doing anything?

WinOMeter is an application portable, so it is not necessary to install it on the computer. Within the operating options, we can add the application to the start of Windows so that we do not miss opening the application every day and thus be able to monitor our activity in front of the computer at all times. The application is only available in English, however, it is not necessary to have extensive knowledge of Shakespeare’s language to be able to access all the functions that it offers us, functions available through the right mouse button from the application icon that is located on the taskbar.

The application is displayed in the foreground in the lower right corner of the desktop, although we can drag it to any other position on the screen or close it by clicking on the X located in the upper right corner to avoid it being another distraction when working and that we are more aware of the information it shows than of our work. WinOMeter is a completely free application that is compatible from Windows XP onwards and works without problems in both Windows 10 and Windows 11, an application that we can download through the following link.
