This is how cool Motorola’s new folding mobile will be

Motorola’s new folding mobile will be presented at a special event that the Lenovo firm has scheduled for the June 1. As usually happens before this type of release, the leaks have been abundant and we have very little left to know about its presentation. Some days ago Evan Blass posted a nice collection of marketing images and now another leaker brings us more images and spec confirmation.

Everything indicates that the folding will be marketed with different denominations depending on the market. Motorola Razr+ (for the American market) or Motorola Razr 40 Ultra as the global name for Europe and Asia. Beyond the name, it will be the third modern version of the Razr with which Motorola resurrected an iconic model that swept sales more than fifteen years ago and which came as one of the most prominent models at the beginning of the current era of folding. Not for nothing, Samsung was ‘inspired’ by him to produce the Flip series, the best seller in its segment.

What will Motorola’s new folding mobile be like?

This smart mobile will use the well-known design “shell” type, with steel chassis and glass resistant to spills and splashes. The company has reinforced a key aspect in folding, its hinge, but maintaining the main aesthetic. From what we see in the images, it will continue to be compact and elegant, with the possibility of operating it with one hand and transporting it comfortably folded.

The main screen is a flexible pOLED with a size of 6.95 inches when fully unfolded. Its native resolution will be 2640 x 1080 pixels, while its refresh rate will be raised to 120 Hz. The secondary screen will have a resolution of 1056 x 1066 pixels and will maintain the 2-inch size of the current model.

Of note, the cover screen seems to take up almost the entire side of the phone when folded, which would allow you to not only see notifications, but also run virtually any application without having to open the phone. Some of the videos shared by Evan Blass even show that you can watch videos, use GPS navigation, play games, or even use an on-screen keyboard to reply to text messages. Interesting.

A 12-megapixel Sony IMX563 sensor with OIS optical stabilization will be the main component of a dual-sensor camera system (the second with 13 MP) installed in two circular rings placed horizontally next to an LED flash. The front camera will have a 32-megapixel OmniVision OV32B40 sensor.

It is confirmed that Motorola will opt for a chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 eight-core and configurations with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. The battery capacity will be around 3,500 MAh with a fast charging system.

Motorola’s new foldable mobile will be distributed in three color options, blue, black and magenta. Regarding prices, the previous known listings speak of the barrier of the $1,000. It’s not exactly cheap, but it’s cheaper than the average high-end foldable. It is clear that if manufacturers want to encourage a mobile market that is quite stagnant this year, they will have to lower prices. The new Razr that we will officially present to you on June 1 is very interesting.
