Parisians can now obtain a Vélib from their Android application. All you need to do is activate the NFC protocol and the Contactless Ticket application, which also allows you to validate your Navigo pass with your phone.
Thanks to NFC technology, RATP succeeded this year in completely disappear the metro ticket in physical format. The organization specifies that this requires having installed at least Android 6, which should not be a problem for most subscribers. How to unlock a Velib with an Android smartphone
No date announced, therefore, and for good reason: Apple poses many problems for developers wishing to use NFC technology, preventing them from writing to the dedicated chip. We will therefore have to wait a few more months before being able to use it on iOS. In the meantime, note that a few conditions must be met beforehand for this to work. In fact, you must first activate NFC if this is not already the case. Here’s how :
- Open them Settings from your smartphone
- Go to the section dedicated to wireless networks (Connections on Galaxy S)
- Activate payments NFC
Note that on some smartphones, you must first click on More or similar mention to access it. Once done, make sure you have installed the app Contactless ticket on the Play Store. This is the same application that allows you to validate your transport ticket for the RATP. There are only a few steps left:
- Open the app Vélib ‘
- Go to the tab Dashboard
- Select option Activate my smartphone (NFC)
- Wait for the verification time
