Xiaomi presents new tablets and the Smart Band 8

Xiaomi has celebrated this afternoon a really interesting event, since it has added a few references to its already extensive catalog of devices. The great protagonist has undoubtedly been the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, a powerful top of the range that stands out mainly in the photographic section, with a camera that brings together Sony sensors with Leica optics. A whole beast of which we have already informed you in the news linked in this paragraph.

But not everything is smartphones, of course, the event has had other protagonists, such as the renewal of your tablet Xiaomi Pad 6which is offered in normal and Pro versions, and the expected Smart Band 8undoubtedly one of the most popular quantifying bracelets on the market, thanks to its always careful design, its enormous number of functions and its price, which since the days when it was the Mi Band has always been exceptionally competitive.

Keep in mind, of course, that for the moment these devices have only been announced for the Chinese market, so it will still take a while to know which versions of them are released on the international market, which of them reach Spain and, of course, with what prices

The Xiaomi tablet has managed to become, over the generations, a fairly solvent device, cwith good value for money, and therefore an interesting option for all those who are looking for a medium-high or high-end Android tablet. They are perfectly aware of this, of course, so in this new generational leap they have decided to provide both the Pad 6 and the Pad 6 Pro with new features that emphasize their premium aspect.

The first novelty in this regard is found in its casing, which says goodbye to the plastic that we saw in previous versions to offer an all-metal finish on a unibody chassis, which provides a look more in line with these market segments. In it we will find, in the Pro model, the holes for the four speakers responsible for providing Dolby Atmos sound, in communion with its screen, which is compatible with Dolby Vision.

Let’s talk now about the screen, shared (like the vast majority of the rest of the specifications) between both models. We find an LCD panel with a 2.8K resolution with a density of 309 dots per inch and offering a refresh rate of up to 144 hertz. Its brightness goes up to 55o nits and, for your protection, is protected behind a layer of Gorilla Glass.

Inside is where we find the main differences between the two models. Xiaomi Pad 6 integrates a Snapdragon 870 SoCwhile Pad 6 Pro takes a leap upwards, by being built around a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, in both cases accompanied by 6 or 8 gigabytes of RAM. Both can mount 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage, but only the Pro model also offers a 512 gigabyte configuration. There are also differences in their batteries, 8,840 milliamps with 33-watt fast charging and 8,600 milliamps with 67-watt fast charging. respectively. 8,840 milliamps.

It also improves the photographic section, more so in the Pro model, which now mounts two sensors in its main camera, one of 50 megapixels that rests on a depth of 2 megapixels. On the front, for its part, we find a 20-megapixel camera. More humble is the proposal for the Xiaomi Pad 6, with a 13-megapixel main camera and an eight-megapixel front camera.

Their prices, in the Chinese market, range from 1,999 yuan for the Xiomi Pad 6 (6/128GB) to 3,999 yuan for the Xiomi Pad 6 Pro (12/512GB).

The brand’s quantifying bracelet also comes with some interesting novelties, among which a change in the conception of the device that may seem trivial, but in reality substantially increases its scope, stands out. And it is that the bracelet is no longer, necessarily, a bracelet. To this end, Xiaomi has shown, in addition to the traditional straps, other adapters with which we can put it with shoelaces or hanging around the neck. A small big change that many other manufacturers will surely take note of.

Already on the technical level, one of the most remarkable novelties is found on its screen, AMOLED 1.62 inches with a resolution of 490 x 192 pixels, and that makes the leap to 60 hertz. Who would have imagined it with the first model of the Mi Band, which didn’t even have a screen, right? Another interesting aspect is that its autonomy, according to the manufacturer’s data, jump up to 16 dayscompared to 14 in the previous version.

As we have also seen on previous occasions, Xiaomi offers two versions in its local market, one without and one with NFC connectivity, the latter model that resists crossing the borders of China. The version without NFC is priced at 239 yuan, while the model that does offer this connectivity costs 279 yuan. Of course, we will remain attentive when all these Xiaomi devices arrive in Spain.
