Since the first GTA hit stores in 1997, all the games in the saga have had men as the main protagonists, and women went from being secondary characters or… nightlife employees. Well, it seems that this is going to change once and for all, and the latest information ensures that one of the two main characters in the plot will be a woman, a Latina who will partner with another person in a story highly influenced by that of the famous bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.
The idea seems quite striking, so Rockstar will surely surprise us again with its classic narrative so full of surprises and unexpected twists. Nevertheless… do not expect the acid and lacking tone of the latest editions.
A more respectful GTA
If the GTA saga is characterized by something, it is by offering a very adult gameplay and interaction with the characters, which borders on (and touches the wrong thing) and which on more than one occasion has put the company in trouble. All this seems to change in the new installment, since from Bloomberg they assure that they have received information about a more molded perspective and that they try not to look for the harm and mockery in marginalized groups.
All this is due to an internal movement that the company has been carrying out for the last few months, and that tries to maintain a good atmosphere among workers and the good image of the company with the public. And it is that not long ago, Rockstar was forced to cancel the launch of a new game mode for GTA Online called Cops n’ Crookswhich created two sides, police and rebels, with which to distribute tow from left to right.
The idea had all the ballots to be a success, however, its launch was going to coincide with the tragic events of George Floyd (brutally murdered by a police officer), so it was obviously not the time to offer a game modality of that Type.
Bonnie and Clyde?
This has been one of the most illuminating details of all those that have been sounding in recent months, as it would help us get an idea of how the game’s narrative will unfold. And it is that Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were two fugitives from the United States who accumulated a large number of robberies throughout the country. The love of the couple kept them together until the day of their death, since an ambush in 1934 ended their plans to continue raiding the country, dying in the gunfire that surprised them before they could escape.
Will we see a love story similar to this? The idea sounds pretty good, but the most interesting thing is that GTA Online already introduced an update for Valentine’s Day in which they introduced game modes in pairs that were reminiscent of the exploits of Bonnie and Clyde, so some users could feel true dejavu in the game
