A flash drive with password and NASA security

We all have USB flash drives in our house, and in them we can have all kinds of files and documents, sometimes very normal but other times private or important. To do this, Kingston has released a device with NASA-level security with which no one except you can see or reveal what that memory contains.

If you have ever searched for how to put a password on a folder or directly on a flash drive, then keep reading because this device is much better than all that. You will directly have it included.

IronKey Keypad 200

Its name is this and its developer, how could it be otherwise, if we talk about a flash drive, is Kingston.

Its operation is very simple, a USB memory like any other, but with the peculiarity of having security options that others do not have.

First and most important is its alphanumeric keyboard which we can easily see. This will help us, as you can guess, to unlock access to the data with a password previously set by us.

Its keyboard is also safe because it has anti-fingerprint technology so that there are no marks of which buttons we usually use and thus not give clues about the possible PIN.

It has an interesting function and that is that if we make a mistake 10 times in a row with the password, the administrator will have to change it from his profile, and if he cannot restore it with his password, the flash drive will delete all the data permanently. Something to keep in mind because we can transport information very securely with this device, but it is not the best place to leave something if we don’t have a copy made elsewhere.

You also have the option of configuring it so that, once you have entered your data, the flash drive will only be used for reading, never for writing, thus avoiding possible problems or errors that could delete its content.

The quality of its materials is also a point in favor. It is made of metal resistant to shocks, scratches and falls.

Specifications

Regarding its technical data, we are talking about a USB 3.2 that has capacity from 8GB up to 128GB and readings of 145Mbps. They are not the best on the market, but sufficient for this type of device.

The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 features 256-bit XTS-AES hardware encryption for added security, as well as a built-in battery that recharges itself when connected to a USB port.

It should be noted that it obviously acts like any other memory and therefore you can use it on any device that accepts it. From MacOS to Windows, but also to watch a movie on a TV. Except for your safety it is exactly the same as another.

Speaking of price, we can find it in several ranges, depending on the storage we want. But I am already telling you that it ranges from €90 for its 8 GB version to €200 for the highest capacity (128 GB)

You can find it in multiple stores, as well as on Amazon by following this link.
