AI startup Anthropic continues to attract investors: 100 million from SK Telecom

The startup dedicated to Artificial Intelligence anthropicfounded by several former OpenAI managers and AI chatbot Claude, continues to attract investor attention all types. This new investment comes just three months after Anthropic raised $450 million in a Series C funding round led by investor Spark Capital. SK Telecom also participated in this round through its investment arm, SK Telecom Venture Capital.

The closing of this round has not prevented investments in Anthropic since then. So, for example, last month, the German software company SAP announced an investment in the company. Ahead of the round, several tech companies were also attracted to the company, with Google, among others, investing in it earlier this year in 2023.

SK Telecom, with this step, has entered the field of generative AI. In fact, it has plans to develop, in conjunction with Anthropic, a large, customized, multilingual language model for multinationals in the telecommunications industry. He Anthropic CSO and Co-Founder Jared Kaplanwill be in charge of directing and supervising the customization and roadmap of the product.

This model will allow four members of the Global Telco AI alliance, including Deutsche Telecom and Singtel, to offer personalized Artificial Intelligence developments for users in each of the markets in which they have a presence. The model will support English, Korean, German, Japanese, Arabic and Spanish.

Founded in 2021, Anthropic is developing Claude, as we’ve mentioned. This AI system allows companies to manage various tasks. These include information searches, response generation, workflow automation, code writing, and text processing in conversations established in natural language.
