AMD Unveils Limited Edition RX 7900 XTX Graphics Card, But You Can’t Buy It

The good news is that AMD is releasing a limited edition Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card and Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, in Starfield colors. The bad news is that it’s not for sale.

Imagine. You’ve been waiting impatiently for Starfield, this massive space exploration game from Bethesda, since its announcement at E3 2018. You know it comes out September 6, but you want more. So you surf Youtube in search of excerpts from the game then come across a video ofAMD unveiling a limited edition graphics card and processor in the colors of the title. White, red, blue and yellow. You are taking out the bank card when your eyes fall on a short sentence written in very small, there, at the bottom: “Not for sale”, not to sell.

Every fan’s nightmare? No, it is a reality. AMD has revealed a limited version of its Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card for celebrate the release of Starfield. Entirely revamped for the occasion, it is adorned with a white hull dotted with blue, red, yellow and orange accents. The fans and heatsinks remain black, with a discreet band repeating the 4 main colors of the aesthetic of the game. Two white LED strips end up making the map look like a spaceship.

In addition to the RX 7900 XTX, AMD also presents a processor Ryzen 7 7800X3D Starfield special. Except this time, only the component box is repainted in game colors. The processor itself remains unchanged. It was not chosen at random: it is the one that is selling best at the moment. And of course, like the graphics card, it greatly exceeds the recommended configuration to enjoy Starfield.

AMD produced 500 copies of these limited editions, which will be “the most sought-after collectibles in the cosmos”. We don’t really know what the manufacturer means when he specifies that these products are “for promotional purposes only”. Will he reserve them for influencers? A certain number will be offered to the quakecon, but for the rest, the only certainty is that we won’t find them in stores. Damage.
