Astre includes the Portuguese company Transportes do Valado in its network

The association of transport and logistics SMEs, Astre, has recently added a new partner to its network: Valado Transport. This Portuguese company has more than 45 years of history and its freight transport service reaches 193 countries around the world. Currently, it houses a fleet of 114 vehicles of road transport.

With this movement, the association advances in its objective of creating an increasingly consolidated network of leading companies in the transport sector – today, Astre has 160 members, a figure that makes it the first European grouping in the sector -. And it does so with one of the main operators in Portugal, which not only offers export and import services by road but also opened up to maritime transport two years ago.

Community of independent companies

Astre implemented, throughout 2022, a global strategy in order to reinforce its European network, offering new complementary services to its members and expressing its plan to visit each member more frequently, to present not only its services, but its values as grouping. Thus, in 2023 Astre will develop a community of independent, serious and solvent companies, main actors in the European supply chain, and in a sustainable way.

Javier Bautista, manager of Astr Ibérica, explains that “At Astre, we work day after day to offer the best services to our associates. The result of this are our most recent agreements with partners such as Lex Transport, and several more that we will close in 2023. We are very proud that new companies in the sector, such as Transportes Do Valado, consider our value proposition and appreciate the competitive advantage that our network can provide them”.

Specifically, the first approach was produced by the search, by Transportes Do Valado, for an independent distribution network in Europe, as is the case of Palet System, one of Astre’s commercial products. From Transportes Do Valado they explain that “We aspire to become the reference transport and logistics operator in Portugal. Now, through the Astre network, we hope to be able to export from Portugal to any country in Europe in the very near future.”
