Bene Bono avoids the waste of 7.8 tons of fruits and vegetables

With just several weeks in Spain, Bene Bono has managed to save 7.8 tons of ugly fruits and vegetables, avoiding the emission of 2,340 kilos of CO2 and thus fighting against food waste from the root of the problem.

In this way, the startup that saves ecological and imperfect fruits and vegetables, operates in Madrid and its surroundings, has a network of 42 farmers in Spain.

The objective is to market organic products to its customers, and to prepare varied seasonal baskets with products that would have been discarded for not complying with the aesthetics or patterns required by the large distribution channels.

100% national, organic and seasonal products

Bene Bono has celebrated the great reception that its shipments of fruit and vegetables, 100% national, organic and seasonalhave had in the region, shipping 1690 orders in two weeks.

Thus, they have helped to sell products that farmers did not market before the arrival of Bene Bono. With this, they have managed to contribute to the reduction of food waste by offering products that have the quality required to be consumed but that, nevertheless, do not appear as aesthetic as others that are sold in large stores.

“We are enormously grateful to all the users who have shown an interest in our organic fruit and vegetable baskets, joining the fight against waste. This adventure would not be possible without your support in our first official weeks in Madrid. We are convinced that we are going to revolutionize the market, offering consumers a quality product at a better price and, in addition, taking care of the environment and our planet”says Sven Ripoche, co-founder of Bene Bono.
