Beware of fake Radeon RX 7900 XTX benchmarks that have been “leaked”

The leak of an alleged performance test of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX has generated a lot of commotion, but I can confirm that it is false, and that so are other “evidences” that have arisen as a result of that one, and that have done nothing more than copy and adapt the data a bit to try to make it look different.

Right now there is no official performance test of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, nor of the Radeon RX 7900 XT, and it will be until the embargo for the publication of the first analyzes is lifted, which will happen just today. I can confirm that we will also review both graphics cardsbut that for a matter of availability and time They will be published later.

You may be wondering how we are so sure that these tests are false, and the answer is very simple, because it is impossible for a GeForce RTX 4080 to reach 81 degrees in God of Warand it is also impossible for it to move by 71 degrees in Cyberpunk 2077. The GPU usage rate is also not at all in line with the results I have obtained in my tests.

fake benchmark of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX

When I reviewed the GeForce RTX 4080 this did not go above 65 degrees at full load, and the normal average in games was 63 degrees, so the values that this benchmark shows are totally unrealistic and we should not give them any credibility. Be very careful with this type of tests that abound on YouTube, most of them are nothing more than simulations that use data extracted from media where certain components have been tested.

First performance estimates of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX

Although we still do not have totally reliable performance results, thanks to the first leaks that have been produced, we have some data on the potential of said graphics card in synthetic tests, and these suggest that could be slightly faster than the GeForce RTX 4080 in rasterizationand that it will be inferior in ray tracing.

Another thing to consider is DLSS 3. Its adoption rate is not quite low, but it has already shown that it can achieve a significant performance boost from frame generation, and AMD has nothing to compete with such technology. , at least for now. Still, I’m sure that they are going to surprise us with something big when they present the FSR 3.0 technology.

The launch of the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX will take place on December 13th. Its recommended price is not yet known, but most likely both have a starting price of 1,049 euros and 1,199 euros.
