CRID accelerates in Castilla-La Mancha with HPE and TAISA

Accelerate the digital transformation of Castilla-La Mancha, strengthen the digital training of SMEs and regional administration staff or improve the employability of university students and vocational training. These are just some of the objectives that the Government of Castilla-la Mancha wants to achieve with projects such as the “Regional Center for Digital Innovation of Castilla la Mancha (CRID)”, a new technological hub located in Talavera de la Reina and which is already a benchmark in the region.

as highlighted Juan Angel Morejudogeneral director of digital administration of Castilla-La Mancha, «after a year of operation of the Center, the balance is very positive, the results obtained have far exceeded the expectations formulated, in all areas: at the level of revitalization of the labor fabric , in increasing professional competence, in carrying out technological projects, as well as at an informative level of the activity carried out, increasing the perception and interest in CRID and its media impact».

Inaugurated in September 2020 in the heart of the historic center of the city of ceramics, the center has managed to attract leading multinationals in the IT sector and, among the projects that have been launched, the initiative that HPE has developed together with its technology partner TAISA.

Aligned with the objective of turning Castilla-La Mancha into a benchmark in the field of innovation, both companies are collaborating on the development of a cloud platform that favors the digital transformation of SMEs in the region, so that they can reduce the digital gap that separates them from large companies.

At the heart of the infrastructure that CRID already has, is the hyperconvergence solution HPE Simplicity, a space where SMEs can process their workloads easily and efficiently. Complete with disk storage solution HPE StoreOnce, which offers the necessary protection to guarantee business continuity processes; the Ctera NAS Filer file system, which allows companies to access a complete NAS system; VMware vSphere 7 virtualization software; and VMware Horizon 8 application publishing and VDI solution, which makes it easy to develop remote work scenarios from any device.

As explained Jaime Arda, director of operations at Taisa, “the ultimate goal is for organizations to have agile, managed and available systems to ensure business continuity. Having this aspect covered will allow companies to delve deeper into technological initiatives to improve their productivity, such as improving their presence on the Internet, deploying electronic commerce platforms, automating and optimizing their processes, etc.»

In addition to the opportunities offered by HPE SimpliVity, the technology multinational has made a commitment at CRID to offer the best training to young people, so that the best talent stays in the region. In this sense, as concluded Rachel MartinHPE Account Manager, “with our Technological Seminars and the Young Talent Program, we want CRID to be a center that favors the generation of high-value technical jobs.”
