CS:GO 2 will be released on August 21 and this is why

We don’t know much, beyond a very closed beta that access is very difficult. It is mainly intended for competitive players to learn the new maps. Remember that no more official tournaments of the current Global Offensive will be held.

In addition to this, we know that the maps change a bit (somewhat predictable) and that it will be based on the Source 2 graphics engine. Little else is known about it, well, we know that the CS:GO skins will be compatible with this second installment of the game.

Launch: August 2023

Valve has the release date under lock and key. Different rumors have emerged, being the one that has sounded the most on June 16. It does not seem likely, since at the moment there is nothing to indicate this date. We should, at this point, already have some more data or leaks, being a long-awaited game, but nothing.

We only know that will be released in summer, is the only thing confirmed by Valve. But, there is a piece of information that could give us the exact release date of the game.

Anyone can go to the Counter Strike: Global Offensive Steam page. All game pages indicate the release date of the game. In this case, the CS:GO release date is August 21, 2012.

We have, on the one hand, that Valve has confirmed its launch in summer and on the other, that this year 11 years have passed since the launch of CS:GO. It seems that we have been subtly told the release date, it has only been necessary to connect the dots.

We up the ante and give you another reason. Counter Strike, the germ of the game, was released on November 1, 2000. Four years later, on November 1, 2004, Counter Strike: Soruce was released. In the end, it was an update of the original game with a new graphics engine and maps. So it wouldn’t be unusual for that trend to repeat itself with the second installment of the Global Offensive game.

Come on, that the breadcrumbs lead to that CS:GO 2 would be released on August 21 of this same year.

What should we expect from CS:GO 2?

The obvious thing is that the maps will improve their graphic quality and surely, their route will be modified a bit. For example, Assault has changed a lot from version 1.6 to current CS:GO. In the end, cosmetic changes are introduced to give them higher quality and also adjustments for the gameplay.

One thing we know and it’s confirmed is that CS:GO character and weapon skins will be compatible with CS:GO 2. This is one of the factors that has caused weapon boxes and weapon skins to skyrocket in price.

We do not expect Ray Tracing, since it would be adding to the game a heavy element that does not contribute anything, what is more, it subtracts FPS. Yes, we could see support for NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR, since both add FPS through image rescaling techniques.

Very possibly we will see new fixed maps and others that will come and go, as happens in the current CS: GO. The introduction of new weapons cannot be ruled out, as is the case with the Negev, introduced in CS:GO and which was not in previous versions of the game. The fire grenade or the Molotov cocktail has also been introduced, but in this sense, we do not expect new grenades.

It will surely keep the Battle Royale mode, in addition to the other game modes. Although, personally, I think the Shoebuster is bound to disappear, since he’s not one of the most popular and he’s a bit boring.

And you, when do you think it will come out and what new features could it introduce?
