Promoted by the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB), this incorporation consolidates the creation of said ecosystem, and at the same time, allows Zentinel MDS to establish collaborations with other industrial technology companies. DFactory Barcelona, which opened its doors approximately two years ago, is moving towards its goal of becoming the factory of the future, promoting and developing, among other things, industry 4.0, new talent and new technologies and investments, in a space conducive to it. In the environment it offers, technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, cybersecurity and Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence or sensors are used to give way to a new, much more sustainable way of producing.
Furthermore, this new way of producing allows synergies to be generated between companies and offers the possibility of establishing alliances with the rest of the entities and companies in the building. DFactory is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and facilitates the digitalization of the industry as the main driver for the ecological transition. Furthermore, by adopting new sustainable production systems and advanced manufacturing, it is responsible for promoting the circular economy.
It currently has 17,000 square meters of space, spread over four floors, in which around 30 companies are already installed. Together they have about 500 workers, and they occupy 80% of the space. Before the end of this year, 2023, the projection of the second phase of the building will have begun, with which DFactory Barcelona will reach 72,000 square meters in the coming years. This growth will allow up to 1,500 people to work directly in its facilities, and about 5,000 indirectly.
