In mid-November, Samsung launched the rollout of the One UI 4 update based on Android 12 to the Galaxy S21s around the world. In the process, the update was deployed on other terminals in the catalog of the brand, including the Galaxy S20 or foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Unfortunately, users quickly noticed bugs after installing the update on their smartphone. On the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, Android 12 causes screen flickering problems, failures with Dark mode, a sharp decrease in performance or even the deactivation of the Dual Messenger option.

Faced with the many criticisms, Samsung finally resigned itself to suspend the update deployment on compatible smartphones, including the Galaxy S21.

On its South Korean forum, Samsung explains that the malfunctions are linked to a compatibility problem with Google services. “After installing the Android 12 update (One UI 4), a compatibility error was found on some devices due to the Google Play system. So we stopped updating for a while ”, explains a moderator of the official Samsung forum.
