CLS iMation just recently announced Gemini launchthe new software suite for the design of added value solutions in the field of internal logistics and factory logistics.
Based on advanced technologies such as virtual reality and digital twins, Gemini was born as response to a need to innovate and exceed expectations specific to customers through a realistic and attractive concept, which facilitates the optimization of intralogistics.
With Gemini, CLS iMation has come up with an entirely new solution that goes beyond the idea of simulation by using the most innovative technologies. The suite includes a wide range of tools that allow CLS iMation Accompany the client throughout the entire projectfrom the initial concept to the delivery of the plant.
Thanks to this new solution, the CLS business unit dedicated to intelligent solutions for logistics automation is able to establish more direct communication with the customer, gain a clearer idea of their needs and meet their requirements more effectively.
In this way, Gemini becomes a tool with which CLS iMation can study, design and configure its own solutions, to enhance the value of the operations carried out within the plant, while reducing costs and installation time. .
Three software packages
The Gemini suite is divided into three software packages: Gemini Solutions, Gemini VR, and Gemini Commissioning:
- With Gemini Solutions, CLS iMation is capable of simulating a solution that is already defined. The tool allows the creation of models of both manual operations and those carried out by automatic machines. Thanks to the repeatability of the simulations and the high level of detail, Gemini Solutions reduces investment risk, while helping to identify the best possible solution through in-depth analysis of each project KPI.
- Gemini VR is a tool that allows clients to periodically receive detailed materials and documentation on the evolution of their project. In addition, they can also enjoy their own immersive experience inside what will be their future plant, once the installation of the solution is finished.
- Last but not least, Gemini Commissioning allows the plant simulation to interface with CLS iMation or customer Warehouse Management Software (WMS). This reduces the time required for installation, as well as the number and extent of improvements that would otherwise have to be carried out after delivery of the plant. In fact, without a tool like this, the planned go-live date would be in jeopardy and could be delayed by days or even weeks.
