In the App Store and in the Play Store we can find a large number of applications to create stickers of all kinds, using our own photos or any other object available in the application in a very simple way and that we can use in WhatsApp, Telegram and, in In general, in any messaging application.
However, its use is limited to users who like to personalize their conversations. WhatsApp has never been characterized as a messaging application that offers functions that are not available on other platforms, and, like the rest of the applications in the Meta group, they are dedicated solely to copy what they like.
However, it seems that they have gotten tired of copying and according to the WABetaInfo guys, they are working on a new function that will allow users to create your own stickers. This new function will allow users to create personalized stickers using images stored on the device, so it will not be necessary to use a computer to create sticker collections to share with our friends.
At the moment, WEBetaInfo affirms that this new beta makes use of the API available in iOS 16 that allows extract subjects from photographs to automatically convert them into stickers within the application, which allows to speed up the creation process and without depending on third-party applications.
All applications are available in the respective Apple and Google application stores, they invite us to manually select the object, person or animal that we want turn into a stickermaking the process sometimes very cumbersome and difficult to obtain good results, especially when it comes to photographs where the object, subject or animal has an unusual shape.
According to WABetaInfo, to add a new sticker to WhatsApp we just have to select the image and drag it to the application so that the application invites us to create a new sticker based on the image. It is likely that the method currently offered by this application will change in the future to make it more intuitive by including a special section. At the moment we do not know if this new WhatsApp function will also allow adding texts and emoticons to the stickers that we create.
As it is a beta, it is possible that this function will not end up being implemented in the end or that it will be implemented in many months. Or, the same is included in the next app update. What is clear is that, for the moment, we have to resort to the applications available to create stickers through WhatsApp, without a doubt, they will not continue to offer greater versatility than this new function of the application, although its use is much less intuitive. and complicated, especially for users who do not want to complicate their lives to personalize their conversations.
