Well, for many users, Microsoft Edge serves the same purpose: download your favorite browser and good-bye. The reason is obvious: everyone uses what they want and Microsoft Edge has replaced Internet Explorer as the default web browser for Windows, then you have to deal with him yes or yes, even once… Or so it is for many, although it would not have to today.
Today, all you have to do is open the Microsoft Store and install from there the browser you like: Firefox, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi… They are all available in the Windows application store, except Chrome. Ergo, to download Chrome it is necessary to have a first browser installed, unless it is an OEM device with Chrome pre-installed. But let’s not get involved, that things are not going that way on this occasion.
In fact, though there are similarities between Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge because of the site it occupies and even because of how he occupies it, often abusing his dominant position, there is also a difference. The main one, the most prominent one, is that Microsoft Edge is an excellent browser. In terms of stability, performance, security and, above all, on a practical level, it is light years ahead of what IE was and competes head to head with the best in the industry.
Yes, it is guilty of privacy problems and the aforementioned abuse of Microsoft’s position, which it exercises without shame towards Windows users. But ignoring these two blemishes, also attributable to Chrome, which in terms of privacy sins in the same or almost the same way, that in ChromeOS it is omnipresent for obvious reasons and that the monopoly issue has little to discuss… Little or nothing has to envy the Google browser, except for Google’s market share.
What’s this all about? Because the Microsoft Edge account on Twitter has shared a meme that makes it clear, despite the fact that it continues to happen, that the Internet is only used to download Firefox, now better known as Microsoft Edge is only for downloading Chrome, is not supported.
