The test will only cover two games: Oxenfreea supernatural adventure game from Netflix’s own studio, and a new title titled Molehew’s Mining Adventurewhich the company describes as a gem-mining arcade game.

Last week, a mobile gamepad app for Netflix popped up on the iOS App Store, suggesting an announcement related to Netflix Games on TV was imminent, and that’s what the giant finally revealed. streaming.

Starting today, select subscribers will have access to a limited beta test for Netflix Games on TV. Initially, Amazon, Chromecast, LG, Nvidia Sheild, Roku, Samsung and Walmart TVs will support Netflix Games, with more to be added over time. Additionally, in the coming weeks, Netflix.com will also start allowing subscribers to play games through a browser on PC and Mac.

On PC, games will be able to be played via the web using a mouse and keyboard, but on TVs, games will require you to use your phone as a controller. It appears that the games use cloud gaming, i.e. they will not run natively on your machine. They will be executed in Netflix data centers, then streamed to your device live. For now, the new beta test is only available only in Canada and the United Kingdom.
